I'm pretty sure our staff wants it that way. I know, it's a totally Grinder thing to say, but I really think Freeze wants him to stay committed to Clemson.
The benefits of his public commitment to OM would be huge, certainly. But, it would also cause a massive surge in other programs recruitment because they'd view him as wide open (even if that was not the case) which could make things difficult for us to close this class.
Honestly, I think the benefits of having Clemson take all/most of the heat for the remainder of the recruiting season is greater than the benefit of his announcing now. We can accomplish plenty with the rest of our targeted players behind the scenes between now and February.
NSD is all that matters and I think it looks really, really good.
