What's goin on with Daniel Akinkunmi? 6' 6", 328 pounds, still an 'or' with EPL for 2nd string left guard.. I don't recall seeing him on the field once so far.

Year 2. I think he’s more a feel good story not sure how he’s developing. Seems like a good kid but came from overseas NFL academy project. He seems to enjoy it here though

Maybe he and some others on the bench will get a series if we are in control during the Temple or Kent State games. Nothing like a real game to learn in.

What a change from almost no TE contribution to this. I already forgot the name of the one who transferred to LSU - and threw an INT to LSU last year.

Thanks for the info regarding Catch the Rush Live. I plan on being there. Easy to find me, I will be wearing OU stuff.

It will be a long day, as my plane is scheduled to depart Phoenix at 5:00, and we don't have DST.

One of the most fun places I have gone for an OU game is Boston, where the OU club meets.

Thinking back to when BV was dead-set on signing a kid with an unusual name from small-town Kansas, I thought, well, BV knows about LBs from that area.

IIRC Kanak was also regarded as an Athlete as much as an LB due to his on-field performance in H.S.

The gist of this rambling thought being: the combination of knowledge and insights of BV, Nagy, the other coaches - bodes well for identifying talent.

And in winning that off-season NIL battle to keep David Stone shows that OUr program seems to have figured out a LOT about working NIL for retention of talent.

Warm fuzzies.

Getting Kaden Helms back with Kanak should be fun to watch.

Those were dark days. I always thought we'd be better off without Riley, because he couldn't build a championship defense. Now we have one. Maybe the best in the nation.

And to your point, he's brought in people that give us an offense similar to what we had in Baker's time.

It takes time to build a team. You just have to be patient.

Got me thinking: which were the darkest days, the last two seasons? Or the 3 seasons of the John Blake era?

It's a close call for me but I lean towards the Blake era just because there was little to no hope we'd get better.
