Its crazy. I think due to such a hot late summer the ground stayed warmer. When we finally got rain it had enough heat to green right up. Wild.
I got 1.5” of rain which made it foggy as frick this morning.
Today cold. But no freeze yet so yard guys are rejoicing making up for lost money this summer

You need to train an AI lawn mower or hire some teens

Many many years ago, I had a small landscaping company and mowing was
most of what we did. Ever since, I've been wary to let someone else mow my yard. Plus, some weeks that's the only cardio I get.

I quit when I got heat exhaustion years ago. Decided it wasn't worth it. Found a great family run lawncare and started on Mondays. As customers left I moved to Tue then Wed and finally to Fridays. Have had them 18 years now.
The son was a teen then and his dad turned it over to him last year. I noticed a few things not as good and called him. He came out personally and fixed it. Told me he would not blame his worker because he was responsible as owner and would not let it happen again. On billing he didn’t charge that week nor the next week.
He texts me any time they can’t make Friday for any reason like weather or breakdowns, and lets me know when they’ll be out.
I can safely say, he’s going to make it! He learned a lot from his dad and is all about customer service and great work. I usually leave Garorade in a cooler for them in hot months. They do a great job and making the decision to hire it was best one ever. I miss it though, did yard work as kid to make money and always enjoyed it all the years I did my own. But health was more imoortant to me

Funny you mention heat exhaustion. I was mowing one Saturday afternoon a couple years ago, I might have had a few beers beforehand, sweating my arse off in 96+ degrees out there and I started feeling like I was about to pass out. And I felt kind of cold, like I had a fever chill. So I went inside, had to lay down on the floor, and passed out for like 45 minutes. When I woke up, I felt like I'd been run over. Was that roughly your experience?

Yes same symptoms! Your body was saying either you shut it down or I will. In my case I felt had I went 10 minutes longer I’d have had a stroke. It was an eye opener. I loved doing yard work too. But for the first time in my life I realized I couldn’t just power thru anything and needed to pace myself when its hot outside
Now I get home to a nicely cut yard and crack open a beer or 4 and admire it.
