I’m seeing Farooq as a projected starter over Andrel Anthony. Anthony was the best WR on the team last year and farooq is a slow choke artist. That’s bizarre

Anthony is still recovering from injury but should be good a few weeks into season.
Farooq was great last year except the bowl game he coughed up ball. The depth is very deep at wr so it really doesn’t mean a lot to me who is announced as a starter or not, we’ll be using that depth.

Reading on other OU social media, there appears to be some that think OU playing zone at times is just bad.
I ask why? We, like most other teams try to be multiple. Besides, Micgigan just won the natty and they use a lot of zone. Some OU fans need to pay closer attention.

Gibson should start over Farooq.
Two players last year (both WRs) had FOUR fumbles lost each - Farooq and #82. OU lost 11 TOTAL FOR THE SEASON.
When (if) Anthony is healthy, he should also be above Farooq. Other than blocking, some of the incoming freshman will be better.
With better TE play, and more passing to RBs, the top WRs should get more chances - Anderson, Burks, Gibson, and Anthony when he comes back. Let Farooq share with Ragins, Kearney, Thompson, Pettaway until he PROVES he won't fumble. *Also, ONE fumble and he is scout team material.

I agree that this was the big weakness DG had, long throws in stride.
