Summer of George
@GeorgeStoia
OU’s young linebackers certainly spent some time in the weight room this summer.
Kip Lewis, 221 (up 7)
Lewis Carter, 227 (up 6)
Samuel Omosigho, 236 (up 9)
Kobie McKinzie, 241 (up 9)

OU will move the ball. Relying on the defense to force teams to throw and an improved pass rush. 9-3.
Yeah, I believe we can win 9. I believe our defense will be one of the best the conference which automatically means you're one of the best in the country. The OL is a question, but I have faith in Bedenbaugh's ability to put a decent group on the field, and feel we can have one of the better offensive units in the SEC.

To me a great D gives you luxury of not having great O.
I think our O will be just fine too. But the D can withstand more outs or mistakes by the O and still keep you in every game. O will still need to carry some weight but the D will allow them time to gel as season progresses

Interesting stat here. This could yield us HUUUUGE results on the field if these guys perform decently well

One other note, we have Mike Hawkins to back up Jackson Arnold at QB and he has flashed well. I think he will be a viable backup and with such a tough schedule we should feel confident in him if called upon

LARGEST change for the offense (and most important) is the improvement by NOT having Lebby.
Littrell has a history of forming his offense for the talent available and game planning to take advantage of opponents deficiencies.
MOST of the 14 SEC teams' fans are so ignorant about THIS OU team that they think losing Gabriel and Lebby are like losing Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. It seems unlikely that any of them will comprehend the current Sooners until after the season.
The ol' "addition by subtraction" fits for Lebby and Roof.

Totally agree. Lebby was a good hire for the situation Stinkin left us in. And Dillon too. But they each had shortcomings.
I really am high on JA to excel this year. Watched all his senior HS year games and he has it. Very calm in pocket under pressure yet if needs to run is very underrated in that regard. Hearing great things about TE room. Sawchuk will be explosive and our WR room has so much talent its going to be hard to have enough balls to go around.
But the key is his playcalling matches situation.

Summer of George
@GeorgeStoia
Seth Littrell indicates he will be the one speaking to Jackson Arnold in his helmet this season. And Zac Alley indicates he will be talking to Danny Stutsman (and others as they sub guys in and out). #Sooners

Interesting way to look at this info. OU needs to win their favored games and then win 2 games not favored in. We play 6 SEC ranked teams. If we go 9-3 (5-3 in Conf) I think we can get in, if those 3 losses are vs ranked team and close games.

My fear is that yet again we will see upperclassmen ahead of more talented younger players. Look for farooq to get the start by default over Gibson, I worry that they will start someone else over Peyton Bowen, I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t see much of Taylor Tatum just because he’s young. It’s this staffs Achilles heel imo.

Nah, the young'uns will play. And the more ready they are, the more they'll play.
