With Wilson as an analyst he can keep doing that. And I want to see Jason Witten be temporary OC and see what he’s got. His room is only one improved. Wilson can aid him as analyst

Thank god. Unfortunately, it took tanking the season before he'd act.

So we don't know who will be calling plays next game yet.

I like the Witten idea. He's got more experience with high level offense than most. How fricked is it that we had to wait until the season is 2/3rds over and no chance at the playoff. Whatever.
Would love to see him start Neubauer. Or at least sub him in after it becomes obvious Mateer can't read his WR's routes.

They waited 2 hames too long. After Kentucky loss we still had a chance to make playoffs. MSST game woulda been perfect time to try Whitt. Now our season is gone and I blame Brent for the mismanagement of QB by not acting as HC.

Another point. If Witten does good then he could be our next year OC. That likely preserves commitments and our class next year is great, top 5. We must protect it at all costs.
Witten has name recognition and a pedigree in the NFL which can resonate with recruits. Upstanding citizen and knows football. We might possibly have our OC.
If so he’d have to make some tough decisions like firing BB and WR coach. But damn, if he can make our offense move it would be a game changer for next season and show recruits we are in business.
My guess is a lot of O injuries come off the list this week. Heard some are frustration injuries but nothing to collaborate that

Interesting and some of this I’ve seen mentioned since summer here and fhere

Here are some pieces of information I’ve heard from some people:
- Arbuckle and BV have dealt with a fractured relationship all offseason because of BV’s desire to “coach his coaches” and Arbuckle’s resentment towards any type of criticism. Riley was far better dealing with constructive thoughts than Arbuckle.
- Mateer is “Ben’s Guy” so he has lived(and died) by that all season.
- Arbuckle’s practice schematics are as bad as his play calling. He isn’t/wasn’t efficient which is why things look so disorganized.
- Players like Mateer as a human-being but cannot stand that he’s gotten so many passes while a RB misses one assignment in pass pro then doesn’t play for four more series.
Just some nuggets that have been out there

We lived it. I’ve said all year, sometimes jokingly other times meaning it - he did not care for team over Mateer. He would not play another qb as they would make him look bad. He would mot keep running vs Michigan and it cost us game. Last proof was keeping offense in vs SC after they pulled starters. This was solely to collect stats and he robbed bench of playing time. He’s a piece of garbage and Brent has fault for not stepping in faster. Tons of fault

At a minimum, Brent Venables can look eye to eye with Jason Witten and respect his experience, career, and football pedigree.
I’m not sure he could ever do that with Arbuckle.
It may not be somethin’, but it’s not nothin’.

Great move and great opportunity for Witt. The offense style will have more pro style elements and won't feature the gimmicks of the air raid. Every position group will benefit. The RBs should celebrate the move. No group suffers more in the air raid BS.
The one thing I know about Jason is he was the player he was because of Details and toughness. His style and personality will match with what Venables wants his team to be.
