Love all horror/suspense/thrillers.

These are my top 5 (INPO):

Paranormal Activity
Paranormal Activity III
Event Horizon
REC
Signs

As with all scary movies, they were only good the first time I saw them (In theater)...

The newest Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie with Jessica Biel was pretty good. I don't really like scary movies because I get freaked out easily. The first paranormal activity movie didnt phase me too much but the ending freaked me out.

Wow, so they thought the moon was 100x further away than it is? Geez, they're dumb.

Huh? Today it's recognized as 238 million miles away, when they had lesser technology they estimated it was 237. It also varies depending on time of the year.

You're posting from somewhere other than earth? I'm fairly certain even in the 80's we realized that the moon was only ~240,000 miles away. Heck, the sun isn't even 237 million miles away.

commas in numbers- learn it.

Google 'distance from earth to moon'

238,900 miles. Thanks for acting like you know what you're taking about.

238,900 = two hundred thirty-eight thousand nine hundred miles.

238,900,000 = two hundred thirty-eight million nine hundred thousand miles.

Thanks for acting like you know what you're talking about.

commas in numbers - go back to 3rd grade.

ETA- unless you're in 3rd grade, then you probably shouldn't be on the OT board, or the internet.

You said 240,000.. I responded that it is 238,000

Yeah yeah, earlier I put in millions, but not the second time around. And you were still wrong about the 240,000. Thanks.

Uh...what?

No, you said -
quote:

When the movie was made it was thought that the distance from the earth to the moon was 237 million miles.

I said -
quote:

Wow, so they thought the moon was 100x further away than it is? Geez, they're dumb.

Then, you, the math genius said-
quote:

Huh? Today it's recognized as 238 million miles away, when they had lesser technology they estimated it was 237. It also varies depending on time of the year.

Me realizing that I was dealing with a mouth-breather, said-
quote:

You're posting from somewhere other than earth? I'm fairly certain even in the 80's we realized that the moon was only ~240,000 miles away. Heck, the sun isn't even 237 million miles away.

In that quote ~ = approximate. Symbols, pretty tough concept for someone who can't count.

Then, you, still not knowing numbers, cite a number to back up you "237 million miles"
quote:

Google 'distance from earth to moon'

238,900 miles. Thanks for acting like you know what you're taking about.

Now, I can quote the rest if needed, but we all know what happened here. You thought xxx,xxx = xxx, xxx, xxx. It doesn't. Sure, try to spin it that I'm somehow the moron for approximating 240,000 to 238,000 if that makes you feel better. Most folks who can count understand what happened here.

Side note- are you in congress?
