no not yet he was interviewing today

story so far is...he came right after he was shite canned to meet with Saban and evaluate our O and said enough to influence Saban enough to tell him to start looking around (very politely and respectfully) they just didn't get along apparently. So the 1st guy Saban calls to come interview is Kiffin

Kitchens wouldn't excite anyone but he'd be a shocker to me

They've fired 2 HCs in Arizona and FO and owner think so much of him they made the new HCs keep him on so he's thought of VERY highly in the NFL and Cards organization

I know Bama is home and I have no idea what O he'd wanna run tbh

Kitchens is loooong before my time.

We don't keep oc very long. I was hoping to see an air raid offense next season. #notreally

He told Saban Nuss was too predictable and it was his M.O. In the Pac 12 also, showed some film and told Saban his weapons on O could be much better utilized and O could be a 45+ point O and 2 guys on roster that could be better than AJ at QB but needed immediate attention to get to that level. Also said he'd speed it up significantly if he was OC at Bama

All this was told to Saban before the BG

Saban has a whole lot of respect for Kiffin as an offensive mind, he's improved and produced everywhere he's been just couldn't cut it as a HC (and probably tried to do too much) but the last time he was an OC was easily one of the greatest statistical offenses in 1 yr in the history of college fball

If we hire Kiffin I've been told he'd wanna stay at least 3-4 years if allowed maybe longer

Also was told he is very polite with Saban and told everyone who would listen cpbasically that he got a big ego check from being shitcanned at USCw...fwiw

Yeah but he had one of the best Trojan offenses of all time when he was OC at USC...

Bama has talent but Idk about QB next year. From Croyle to AJ there hasn't been much of a change in talent at the position IMO.

From spring ball memories the Del Rio kid impressed me on his long ball throws.

If he can get timing and accuracy down then he'd be good.

If we get coker then we might have a legit shot at the playoffs.

What about Saban / Smart changing defense scheme? Think they'll ever move away from nickle and go with a spread defense like 335?

Kiffen is a really good OC. His dose of humble pie he just received is probally the best thing that ever happened to him. He may still run a pro style O but I bet he speeds up the snap times.

It isn't scheme it's personel and the complicated series of dignals and check reads he employs. If he changes the call system and puts a few more quick twitch/speed tush guys out there he can slow down the hunh. Jmo

Well the last 2 years really strictly because of personnel we have run 3 man very sparingly and Dime and nickel

All that changes of Bama is able to land Elam, that gives Bama the ability to put the 1st true 0 tech NG Bama has had since Terrence Cody and Elam is a lot more explosive

A'Shawn, Elam, Frazier with Hand and Pettway rushing that's frickin scary

Yeah but his read and check system isn't quick enough against tempo offenses. Y'all are not set and are still shuffling to where you need to be a lot when the ball is snapped. It just kills your secondary especially the guys on the back end they are hung out a lot on where they are supposed to help.
