How is everyone fairing? We don’t deal with weather often and the slightest snow/sleet/ice cripples Houston.

You never realize how drafty your house is until the temperature hits the single digits and you can feel it seeping in around door frames and the window in the kitchen.
Marking all the spots that will be getting new weather stripping Saturday.

15 here in B/CS this morning. Trying to decide if I'm going to tell everyone to come to work or not. I know it's colder than that down in the low spots we are building bridges in.

Looks more like a stiff dew than anything.

ATL fricked. But no power outages so that’s good.
Interstates are mostly blocked by stranded yankees and truckers who “know how to drive in the snow”.

I'm used to the cold to a degree but like that other poster said... you don't realize how drafty a home is until it hits single digits.

2 inches of snow in SW Alabama. Second snowfall of the season. National Weather Service records indicate this has only happened one other year...1977.
Wind chill this morning and tomorrow morning in the single digits.

Thankfully the cold snap appears to be on its way out after tonight. Current work project involves a lot of dirt work and these last few days have been, well, less than productive.

Be careful down there if you have to go out. When people have been driving on the snow and compacted it to ice the roads can get very dangerous, especially once the top layer of the ice melts.
Think of how bad people drive in perfect weather, now picture them having to drive on icy roads for the first time in their lives. Its going to look like a demolition derby out there.

It's 7° in the Bluegrass and we've got 3" of powdery snow on the ground. Side streets are navigable only because the snow is so cold and compacted that it actually enables traction. No sliding at all.
