I'm so sick of reading about Skittles and iced tea. I'm not sure why it even matters what he had on him, as long as it wasn't a weapon or something illegal.

I'm not in law school or an expert, but it seems you think this case is cut and dry. Yet I see so many differing opinions. Do you really think its an open and shut case?

Cases like this are never that "open and shut".

My boyfriend is a 3L and he thinks Zimmerman is getting off. There's not enough evidence to warrant a conviction, and if the jury does convict him of anything, it'll be a lesser charge such as manslaughter.

My gf is a lawyer and she has pretty much said the same thing.

based on evidence we have to this point? yes it is cut and dry. he should not even be in trial (for 2nd degree murder.) Do I think he's probably a racist scumbag? probably. should he get a lesser sentence? probably.

but too much evidence out there to believe beyond a reasonable doubt that he killed in cold blood.

That's what I'm thinking.

Honestly I can't stand these overblown trials. There are so many other cases that deserve notoriety.

And that's why I asked if, in Florida, a jury could consider a lesser charge. I don't think he'll be convicted of 2nd degree murder, but manslaughter is a strong possibility considering that the jury can consider that in Florida.

And to reedus and AUNite?

Regarding the end of the comment, I was not aware a gun or knife was pulled on Zimmerman.

Slamming someone's head into concrete could be considered lethal force. Following someone doesn't justify someone taking violent action. If they had words, it doesn't justify violent action. If Trayvon instigated the violence, and was on top, slamming his head into concrete, as evidence seems to support, he had the right to use lethal force to defend himself.

A lot of if's, at the moment. Interested in seeing the rest of the trial to see what other evidence is presented.

I live in Memphis and I swear I will not be leaving my house if Zimmerman goes free … instead I will be sitting next to my door with a loaded gun.

I guess it's where I live but I have no sympathy for Trayvon's dumbass for creeping thru a neighborhood for no reason with a hoodie on

The witness testified Friday that Martin was in a dominant posture in the fight, straddling Zimmerman in a mixed-martial arts-style "ground and pound" position.

Good, who was called by the prosecution, also said he heard screams for help coming from the person on the bottom of the scuffle.

Good yelled for the fighting to stop, then went inside to call 911. He heard a gunshot while he was on the phone with dispatchers, he said.

I live in the middle of Atlanta, but I don't think the black people in this neighborhood are like that. They're mostly students and professionals.
