Also, I'd venture to say there are more serial killers who are AA when you consider bloods and crips who have killed numerous people

Ok in the joint there is a major difference in the criminal culture. Yes there are white cons who choose the criminal life willingly and are proud of it but it is usually but not limited to those who grew up in a criminal family. On the other hand the majority of the AA cons are there because it's a matter of pride and street cred to be incarcerated and this goes for AA that grow up across the wealth spectrum. This is just what I have observed and learned in my time being locked up. However the majotity of crime is committed in poor areas because it's eaiser to take money than to make money. Yes drugs have a lot to do with it but you would be amazed at just how much drug traffic occurs in affluent neighborhoods. The difference is the client base. Not in terms of skin color but in terms of wealth. Ok I could go on about this for awhile but I don't type well and it's even harder on my phone. The only solution to these problems starts at the grassroots level and will never happen in our lifetimes.

I remember all of that. I was scared shitless. Some of my co-workers & I used to get drinks after work at French Quarter Daqs a few evenings a week. We were terrified to go for quite a while. You never new who might be stalking in some parking lot, then follow you home. When it was made public there were actually 2 serial killers "working" simultaneously in Baton Rouge, we were incredulous. Even after both had been caught, I was still petrified of coming home to an empty house after work for a very long time. A few of my friends & I even took turns bunking at each other's houses. That was a scary, scary time.
The BR serial killers have been mentioned on Criminal Minds, one in reference to being black, and one of the characters on the show was discussing one of the killer's tactics of playing a recording of a baby crying on the front porches of the intended victims to trick them into opening the door. I didn't know that was actually the case until I did some research on it, and found that it is. Wickedly smart. Horrifying.

I remember most people being shocked that one of the BR serial killers was black, but it did make people more careful in assuming that serial killers are always white. John Allen Muhammed, one of the D.C. snipers/serial killers, was also black & from Baton Rouge.
