Prince is legitimately the greatest musician to ever live,
What's your definition of musician?
If we're including composers and conductors in this list then there's no way Prince even cracks the top 30.

Someone who plays music as a profession. I would not include composers or conductors.

Well, you only listed 9, so I suppose you’re technically correct.

Pretty much every person on that list was a one trick pony. Prince doesn’t receive the deserved accolades for his guitar playing because he was famous for so many other things. But make no mistake, there are arguably none better, and inarguably very few - if they exist.

Am I wrong? Those guys are pretty much singularly known as guitarists. That’s it.

Yeah, but that’s not what I said.
What I said was the greatest musician of all time. It just so happens that guitar is his instrument of choice, and he’s easily better than pretty much everyone on that list you posted.

This isn't your thread. The 2nd poster in this thread said :

Got it now ?
When you keep debating a point, when you have no leg to stand on, it goes beyond cute trolling. Trying to get people to "go off" often degenerates into an exposure of ones own ignorance. Such is the joy of message board folly eh ?

Prince was a true musician, dude played an insane amount of instruments, and he wrote and produced his own work. MJ played very few if any instruments, he did some writing on songs, just not a lot of it ,he had Quincy Jones helping.
So Prince wins on the playing instruments & writing/producing his own stuff.
As far a singing & dancing. More people seem to prefer MJ's voice and dancing. Personally, I always thought Prince could give MJ some serious dance competition if he'd just taken the damn high heels off.
So MJ wins the dance trophy, I guess.
