I do not but my wife does/did.
She played in HS and then started playing USTA at about 26 after an 8 year break. She came in as a 2.5 got second in Nationals for 6.0 mixed and was promptly moved up to a 4.
She then got knocked up and has only played a few times since then. None of it competitive. I keep trying to get her to pick it up again.

Played singles in high school and used to play T2 here in Atlanta. Won the Atlanta City title at 3.0 last summer and haven't played much since. It's a self rated league so everyone plays down at least one level. I beat a guy last summer that plays 4.5 in USTA 6-0 6-0, and have been beaten that bad in 3.0/3.5 singles in T2 a few times. That's how bad the sandbagging in T2 is.
Def true. A friend of mine who is a 5.5+ has been playing at the 4.5 level there but just got found out when someone Googled him (he played D1 tennis).
I'm a 4.0.

My roommate and I have started playing a lot recently.
I like competition and it's good exercise.

That's crazy how you guys are saying people are playing multiple ratings away from what they really "should be". Everyone up here is pretty much rated correctly and playing where they more or less belong. Of course the top end players of a rating level could be competitive in the next level up and likewise some bottom end players of a level would still fit in a level down. But playing 2 or 3 rating levels apart...damn, that would be annoying to have to deal with. The 2 best guys on my team could be 5.0, but they haven't been forced up by USTA yet thankfully. Others have.
