If they are, they need to find another avenue to vent their frustrations! None of the sports news outlets I've watched have mentioned it.
You clearly didn't understand what I said. Can you provide anything that shows the women on those teams aren't paid as much as the men?

I know that Japan pays a decent salary to women softball players, but women's softball is more popular in Japan (and probably the U.S.) than men's pro softball (and I don't hear of men bitching about that either). Also, WNBA women make only a small fraction of what the NBA pays.

The US women's soccer team's argument over pay isn't with their clubs, it's with US Soccer. WNBA vs NBA salaries doesn't mean shite in this context.

I've been to one. I enjoy soccer, and I like some of the women players. It was fine.
I don't follow the league at all though.

Who actually pays the pro players? Is it U.S. Soccer?

Their main salary is paid by their club, but US Soccer pays them for international duty.

"The National Women's Soccer League is a professional women's soccer league owned by the teams, and under a management contract with the United States Soccer Federation. At the top of the United States league system, it represents the sport's highest level in the United States."
Let's get our facts straight! Now, so what I'm seeing is a challenge from the players to the club owners THROUGH the U.S. Soccer federation for more money...am I wrong?

As I've been saying, yes.
They do want money from their clubs, but they aren't asking to be paid equally to MLS. Their main complaint is to be paid equally for international competitions, which lies solely with US Soccer and doesn't have shite to do with their clubs.

The average player in the Women's league makes peanuts and often can't afford to be able to live without roommates.

This, from the current Fox News Report is what I was alluding to.
"While the U.S. women’s soccer team’s unprecedented run of success has attracted lucrative sponsorship deals and the support of countless public figures, the revenue windfall has yet to translate to the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). Without ticket revenue, top-dollar broadcast rights deals and meaningful investments from corporate sponsors approaching those of men’s leagues, women’s pro sports leagues have fewer financial resources with which to pay their players salaries that are on par with their male counterparts."
It's obvious that league play and international competitions are two entirely different animals.

And the aren't asking for equal pay in league play. So when you say this...
quote:
I agree, but I'm not seeing any of them screaming about getting paid the same money as men either
You are wrong, because they are only asking for equal pay for international competitions.

Now which is it?

Do you not realize the huge gulf between more pay and equal pay? If you think there's a women's league in any sport that isn't asking for more pay, then you're head is buried in the sand.
From what I can tell, they haven't filed lawsuits with their league. They have filed lawsuits with US Soccer for equal pay for international competitions.

I've got an idea...you've answered my question, so let's just drop it.

The women aren’t suing to be paid more in league play
They’re suing to be paid more from the USSF
Maybe I’m wrong, but just one example was that the USWNT was the highest selling soccer jersey on Nike.com
From my understanding, that money goes all to the USSF not the USWNT.
Is this correct pville?
