I feel like most Southerners are actually in some way part Irish ... I myself am Scots-Irish and I'm not ginger though you would be able to correlate my heritage if you saw my beard in the right light (*shhh ... don't tell anyone but there is a little ginger in there*)

True. So many of them were farmers, and the South's climate was/is very conducive to that. My great grandfather immigrated from Ireland to Mississippi.

Yep. I'm blonde, mostly, but you can see the "ginger" highlights in sunlight. I don't have a beard though.
