When it comes to making the Baseball Hall of Fame, which numbers should mean the most?

I know of a guy with a career consisting of 2165 Runs, 4256 Hits, 2314 RBI’s, 17 All Star appearances, nearly 200 Stolen Bases, and a lifetime Batting Average of .303 in the Major League…that still hasn’t managed to get voted in with those kind of stats & credentials.

Baseball was right to ban him from competing/managing ever again in the game but denying him his rewards for his accomplishments is lame. Perhaps I'm wrong but I believe I am not.
