- First season of Spartacus (parts of every episode are softcore porn)
- Homeland
ETA: I know you asked for premium channel shows but since everyone is throwing in shows from AMC and FX ill add this -- The Shield!!! Easily in my top 3 all time fav. series.

I keep trying to watch Game of Thrones, but its just talking and more talking, I am like 30 minutes in. I will try one more time to muscle through it.
Some good series though are: Spartacus, Banshee, Entourage, Breaking Bad, etc.

get through the first episode. it gets so much better. I had the same views as you.
If I was going to recommend any shows that have every been on tv I would recommend them in this order:
1. Breaking Bad - slow first season but no denying how incredible it is
2. Dexter - just watch and you'll get it
3. Lost- extremely frustrating but by far and away my favorite show

Since you haven't seen any of these I would wait on Game of Thrones because it isn't going to get wrapped up anytime soon.
Wire is the best show I've watched,
Curb is awesome,
Sopranos is great if your into mob/crime stuff
Homeland has been great so far
Dexter is really good although I only watched a couple seasons
I wasn't too big a fan of weeds
ETA: yes Eastbound and Down is awesome, how could I forget

spartacus season 1 wasn't bad but I didn't get into it to much. I know lots of people who really like it though.
Party down is hilarious and I belive on netflix or hulu or was at one point.
Justified has excellent dialogue, hot women, and lots of people getting shot.
