Nope, in Merican history, it has been a decline since the folks that raised me. I could tell you why but you would not believe it even tho if they ever bother to do the research they will not finds holes in the argument.

Stupid thread
What's stupid is the unsustainable debt boomers are leaving future generations.

What's stupid
Letting a POTUS win in 1980 because his opponent told the truth and we voted for the guy who lied. Ronnie took us to government debt level not seen since WW II debt (and we were, you know, in a world war) because Carter said we needed to tighten the belts and work our way out of the financial hole created by the oil shocks that crippled Nixon, Ford, and Carter.
Starting with Ronnie in 1980, every POTUS (save 1 of Clintons 8 years) just added more and pushed the debt to the next POTUS. DJT (first term set the record) and Sleepy Joe finished in the #2 spot, all time. BBB passes and DJT II will dwarf DJT I. All this time each side blames the other side instead of actually solving the problem and then passes it forward to the next administration.
Stupidity is going to vote for the guy blames the other side and letting both sides pick you wallet clean.
Real old school Mericans like myself stopped voting for either and until this catches on with the actual people who live and work here, it will not improve.

If you blame boomers, then you don't understand that debt based monetary systems are economic slavery, and it's just been a steady theft of Americans wealth long before.
At the current rate, your grand kids will think you had all the great stuff and ruined it.

#1 Note sharp decline during oil shocks of the 70's
#2 Note 1980 to now of more debt and push it forward started by Reagan and followed by every POTUS since
#3 Note it stops roughly 20 years ago, probably below ZERO now

Men were men,
women were women,
and bi meant you were paying for it.
Presidents weren't impeached,
hamburger came from cows,
and turntable's weren't just for audiophiles.
You didn't bring a gun to a fist fight,
your doctor was a medical specialist,
and shotgun weddings were your DHR.
Food came from a farm,
you could read the ingredient list,
and plastic was outside not in you,
And the rainbow was a covenant sign,
before being stolen, perverted,
and draped across an abomination.

From what my great-grandmother used to say, life was harder but simpler.
