Ive played nothing but Pubg for the past year and a half. on Xbox. Used to only play madden....now its all i play when i play a game

You should give Apex Legends a shot. To me it's far and away the best battle royale game so far
That's basically all I've played since it came out in February aside from some 2k19 and the occasional round of Halo Reach for nostalgia sake

I feel you. Sports games are my forte, fighting games and open world games I'm solid at. Shooting games I pretty much suck at, Halo is the only one I was ever really solid at and CoD I didn't completely suck.
But Apex Legends I sucked for so long, really only in the last month do I consider myself solid and a respectable part of a decent squad, so I definitely feel you on that. But most shooting games I get so frustrated bc I suck that I don't blame them for long, even Halo and CoD I would frequently rage quit. But something about Apex makes it so fun that even when I sucked I kept playing. It's just a really good game. And I'm not even a big fan of the Battle Royale games, I fricking hate Fortnite, that game sucks arse

I for sure get it haha. PUBG and Madden are the only things ill play. And PUBG is the first game i COMPLETELY sucked at and kept playing. Not even sure why. Just kept going. Figured out the settings that worked for me and it got better. Then i got my first chicken dinner and now im fricked hahah. Amazed i won, jumped up yelled frick YEAH, GOING PRO haha...startled my dog and he bit me on the arse

I somehow managed to get my first two wins ever in Apex in back to back games. And the second I didn't even have a full squad, it was just two of us. I didn't jump up and scare my dog, but I was so excited I posted pics or the winner screen on my Snapchat story both times. And I almost never post on there, so yeah

It took me a solid 2-3 months to get to where I didn't feel like I sucked complete donkey tits. And I still have my donkey tits sucking moments too, but also some moments of brilliance. Mostly I'm just about an average player now though. But I work well in a team if my squad doesn't suck. As long as I have a good squad I can finish in the top 5 fairly consistently, I got up to a 3x top 5 streak night before last in this Elite event they're doing right now.

In Apex every game starts it with 20 squads of 3 players. Unless somebody quits, it's always like that

I also always got a kick out of the advisors in CivII. Been addicted to III for many years. The later versions added religion and specialized defensive capabilities that made it too difficult to play a conquer the world style. Often wondered if anyone else was still hooked on these.
If you like old turn-based military style squad strategy, try X-Com UFO Defense and X-Com Terror from the Deep. Easy to play, and something about blowing up little aliens with grenades is just enjoyable.
Still an occasional foray into the world of Might and Magic VI.
