I used to be a thoroughbred type of dog enthusiast, but these days I like my mongrels.
The two dogs I have now are the best dogs I've ever owned. One is 50/50 Labrador and German Shorthaired Pointer. The other is 50/50 Border Collie and Australian Shepherd.
The lab mix is very independent and very smart. Good watchdog type dog too.
The Collie mix is very gregarious and sharp as a tack. She's always on the job. She is an EXCELLENT farm dog.
ETA: This is a good topic. Love talking dogs.
My other favorite breed is the boxer (loyal, goofy, fun, hard workers).
Next dog I own will be a large breed. I'm partial to Great Danes but they don't live long. Maybe a mastiff.

Though she was a mongrel my favorite dog was more of an Australian Shepherd then anything.
She was just a good dog. Friendly, loved everyone, and would curl up at the foot of my bed every night.
We left her for the summer at my grandmother's home out in the country and she ran out in front of a group of kids and was bitten by rattlesnake. She died a day later.

I like Rat Terriers and Jack Russels. They live longer than most breeds and are very intelligent. They’re also a lot of fun to have around.

Same. I have a six month old and she's great.
Also a big fan of border collies.

Well you would. My favorite breed would be labs. Had a lab-german shepherd mix as my First dog. He was a nice fella.

Hey everyone I heard KSG likes talking to himself. He also isn't faithful to his faithful friends and ever since he became a LSU fan he's being a little Bish - his words not mine. I hope the real KSG comes back soon.
