Wrong board . Take that shite to the OT. It's the room down the hall where the smoke is coming out and the crack pipe dispensers are.

Reasons are simple, money.
A lot of people depend on it being illegal now. Cops, the prison industry, legal system and so forth. All together you are talking billions and these groups have lobbies that line the pockets of politicians to keep it that way.
Speaking of lobbies, Florida recently lost a vote to legalize it. The primary reason was Sheldon Anderson, the casino mogul and single largest lobbiest in the U.S. He is trying to get full legalization of gambling in FL and build casinos to rival vegas in south florida. He thought it would curry favor for gambling from Tallahassee if he came out against pot.

Arkansas state attorney general keeps changing the rules for weed to get on the ballet or it would already be legal in Arkansas. Republicans are taking Arkansas back to the Stone Age.

Alabama, Georgia and the Mississippi's need to take a step forward for progress
Mississippi was the first state in the union to decriminalize marijuana possession in the 1970s. Until recently, we had the most liberal marijuana laws in the nation. Also, Mississippi has the lowest percentage of inmates incarcerated for drug possession of any state in the country. So, you actually need to thank us for leading the way on this subject.

So wanting something that all ages partake in (and have for a long time ) to be legal is why people hate millenials? Colorado is making millions of dollars for the state, and legalization cripples violent drug cartels. fricking millenial scum!

It's only illegal if you get caught

Lots of ill informed, tin foil hat wearing, Fox News watchers in Arkansas.

The good thing is the stupid people who think it should be illegal will die off soon enough I suppose.
And I have no dog in this fight. If I liked pot, I would smoke it regardless of legal status because I make my own decisions with what I decide to consume. However, I tried it once and didn't like it. Maybe I'll try it again sometime, maybe not. It's legal status doesn't matter to me either way, I just don't like when stupid people win when they shouldn't.

You should try it when your team loses a football game. Makes the loss much more bearable.

not just technically, literally.
I hate the idea of govt. mandating what you can and cannot do when there are equally harmful legal substances, but I also have an issue with big business profiting off substances that individuals can become dependent upon i.e. alcohol, caffeine, marijuana, and even sugar ... although it is not reasonable to outlaw those substances
The biggest issue I have with legalizing marijuana is how it could impact the welfare state in this country, which is already ridiculous.
This issue is much more complex than OP would like to make it, and until proponents of legalization can be more objective with their argument and think past "Smoking pot was awesome in high school AND I still managed to graduate", the legalization process will be slow

Soon enough there will be enough empirical evidence from Colorado to dispell your concerns and prove them to be based on ignorant rhetoric.

All my friends that do it still live at home.
Those that stopped/never started have started careers and maintained gainful employment.
While purely anecdotal, I choose to believe the two are related.
Having said that, I hope every one of you pot heads get drug tested and fired.

Crusty old white people.
Seriously though, even if it's legalized don't expect the NCAA to remove it from banned substances list.

I watched Reefer Madness the other day on Flix. They termed it "public enemy #1"..
Weed is not my cup of tea, it makes me jittery and makes my chest tight, but I fully support legalization.
