About 10 years ago before I stopped smoking. Walked out on the back patio, looking up at the stars, noticed something moving left to right very slowly across the sky blotting out the stars as it passed. Moving steadily but very slow, seemed to be diamond shaped & about the same size as a pack of matches held at arms length. A very faint barely visible orange light on each of the 4 corners. Absolutely silent. I've never told anyone I know IRL, dunno what it was but gave me a major case of the willies & still does thinking about it...

The Kirk Gibson homer in 88 World Series. Jack Buck told me so. Also, Vin said it somewhat

I once saw a girl jump headfirst, tuck and roll through a flaming hula hoop at JR's for Big Daddy Gray's Gonzo Gameshow. She won a beer.

WMR will get this but I once saw Aaron Peters try to pick up a 28-30 yr old. She was way over his age range.

I saw a car run a red light and then suddenly stop in the intersection. I was like WTF are they doing? At that moment, a motorcycle buzzed the front of the car and barely missed broadsiding the vehicle. I was like, "Holy shite! Did you see..." and then at that moment another motorcycle broadsided the car.

The biker's body flew over the car and shot down the road, skidding and tumbling for what seemed like 100 yards.

Several people and i ran out into the road to help the guy. He wasn't moving. His face was too bloody to recognize. It looked like it had been peeled off.

Then I looked at his legs and was shocked to notice that his legs had been ripped off just below the knees. Shredded skin dangled where his shins had been.

I remember thinking, "Why aren't his leg injuries bleeding more? His fricking legs are ripped off! Shouldn't there be puddles of blood? WTF?"

It was nothing like the movies.

I still don't know if that guy lived or died or if he was dead at that moment. All I could focus on was his legs...

fricking motorcycles, man. I hate em. Seen too many young people die on them. They are too popular around here, especially.

There were 3 of us driving different pickups loaded with furniture to take up to Athens last summer. We were in some traffic headed to my parent's home to grab some other furniture where our lane to turn right was stop and go and the left lane was totally open. I have a big enough truck that it isn't easy to see around and while we were rolling slowly to the light some kid, had to be like 15-18, started walking like he was gonna cross the street. I stop and he steps in front of my truck and behind my buddies truck and starts walking across. I looked back to see if anyone was coming, not really thinking about it, and I saw a car coming probably about 45 which was the limit. By the time I turned around I saw the kid make a break to cross the street and as soon as I tried to slam my horn it was too late.

I remember it like it was yesterday but it was surreal. He ran out in the street without looking but saw the car right before and had momentum coming back but he got hit dead on. He did a flip in the air and hit my buddies back bumper coming back down while his shoes flew about 50 feet. His head was busted to shite, bones broken through the skin, and he immediately went into shock. Everyone immediately got out of their cars, blocked both lanes, put blankets on him and tried to keep the kid conscious because his pulse was fading pretty fast. Poor lady who hit him was in hysterics but there was no way she could have avoided it.

Anyway, we were there for an hour giving a report to the police and assisting the medics anyway we could. Kid had no ID on him and despite calling local hospitals we never found out his fate but I honestly don't think he made it. I can remember it all like it just happened but it's hard to believe. I'm not a real emotional guy but that shite bugged me for a while.

I don't imagine it does. That story is tied with one other time. My mom was dating some guy and he had a little daughter, I think she was 6, who was a spoiled little pissant and was also full of energy. She was a little gymnast and always was trying to climb things or do balance beam stuff on anything she could. We have a center stairwell that is about a 20 or so foot drop down and apparently she was messing around and just fell down head first. I didn't see it because another buddy and I were outside doing yard work and suddenly this ambulance shows up. I went inside and it was the medics, that guy, and his daughter on the ground screaming. She stopped screaming and honestly that wasn't that bad but the blood and hearing her dad scream was pretty awful. Never seen someone so distressed. They rushed her to the hospital and the doctors gave her a slim chance of surviving. But luckily this story ended better because it went from her not surviving, to she would survive but have brain damage, to then she'd be ok but have other problems and ended with her making a full recovery despite a lazy eye. She completely crushed the top of her skull so really it was pretty miraculous.

But yea, her dad screaming... that'll always haunt my buddy and me. And not to take what you said and go into another story but I forgot to type it the first time.

Also, on a lighter note (maybe not), last week I got to see some old friends and the family was telling me at dinner one night in JAX they were eating outside and saw what they were convinced was a UFO. Described it like everyone in this thread. Had them pretty leery.

December, 2005, I witnessed the aftermath of a small plane crash. I had just left a small airport that I worked, and before I got a couple of miles down the road, a friend called me and told me that he had just witnessed a crash at the field. I arrived on the scene just a couple minutes later, and we jumped into the back of a truck and headed to the fiery site next to the runway. Once there, we tried to reduce the fire with foam extinguishers, but couldn't get close enough due to the intense heat. I saw 3 charred bodies still strapped in their seats. They had died on impact. The magnesium landing gear components had green flames and sparks shooting out. The FD showed up and basically put out what remained of the wreckage and a small grass fire. All that was left was part of the instrument panel, the vertical stabilizer, and the two engines, although both heavily damaged. I was traumatized for days, but the worst part was not being able to help in any way. It will always been in my mind.

Posted by The_Joker Sitting in my back yard stargazing and having a beer last year I saw what I thought was a satellite but it completely changed direction. On a dime it turned about 70 degrees and kept on going until I couldn't see it. It definitely wasn't a plane and satellites don't change direction. Still not sure what I saw.

Saw something similar one evening. Looked up and noticed what I thought were three stars in a triangle formation, but stared for a second because I didn't recognize them.

Suddenly, the one in the bottom right zigzagged to the left and right before shooting off in a different direction. The other two simply got smaller as if they had sped off.

Not unusual to see jets in that area, but to see them at night, that high up, and changing directions that quickly is very unusual.

I've seen a ufo almost exactly the way a few others have mentioned.

When I was around 12 or 13 a bunch of kids in the neighborhood were playing hide and seek with flashlights on a Saturday night. After a while we were all sitting around taking a break and I got to looking at the stars. I was just staring off into space, literally, when I realized one of the stars was moving. I was trying to figure out if I had ever seen an airplane at night without flashing lights and simultaneously thinking it was so far away it had to be in space, when it hit me that I must be watching a satellite in orbit.

This was in the eighties and I'd never spotted a satellite before, I was a little excited. I almost told everyone to look up when it suddenly stopped almost right in the middle of my field of vision, sat dead still for a moment, then streaked off in a different direction. It was out of sight in an instant. It didn't leave a tail like a shooting star or anything, it was just moving so fast that it covered half the sky before I could blink and was gone.

I was thinking "WTF, satellites can't do that shite" and started to doubt I had really seen it at all when the guy sitting next to me asked if I saw the same thing he saw. Nobody else believed us and I'm really glad the other guy said something or else I might not have believed it myself.

I saw a burning vehicle with two bodies inside. Turned out to be two doctors. The fire dept was not there yet and you couldnt get close enough to the vehicle to help. The black figures just sitting there not being helped was pretty haunting.
