Good, the mother fricker looks the size of a state. Massive
It's larger than the states of South and North Carolina combined.
And Shaft..I had to haul arse with the family up to Wilmington (Carolina Beach) bc we have a beach house there and rent it out. It was agreed upon that the renters would handle all storm prep in exchange for waiver of monthly rent for 1 month. We got a call four days ago that they basically just said frick it and left with no prep done. We had to take back roads all the way from Aiken to Carolina Beach bc of contraflow on the intersates. I was just looking at a live webcam view of the Carolina Beach pier and remembering all of the countless hours spent there and on that beach and all of the memories and I swear it feels like losing a good friend and not being able to do a damn thing about it.
Anyway, best of luck and I hope all turns out well for y'all.

The storm surge plus rainfall plus runoff over the first 40 hours is going to be catastrophic. Hope there is no one near there.
Sorry about your home. I cant imagine losing mine. But if you do have one there, its probably not going to survive'

My cousin boarded up the exterior, but unfortunately I think his efforts might have been in vain.

You should be fine there. It’s down to a Cat 2. Probably a lot of rain and a little wind.
And I’m speaking from personal experience. I live 60 miles inland from the Coast. Cat 1-2 storms are a far cry from a Cat 3 and above. Their inland impact is mainly rain, which can be bad, buts it’s no hurricane force wind + storm surge.

Jeebus, looks like it's just gonna stall for 12-14 hours as a category 2.
Pray that's not the case.

I drove up to Alpharetta yesterday, so I'm doing fine.
Can't see how Sunset Beach is doing
