Well, that and parenting for 18 years. Isn’t there also Bible School, prayer groups, Bible study and a host of other activities wherein a child is educated about his family’s chosen religion?
Bible schools are typically 1 week out of the year for 2 hours a day. A bible study is like one hour a week every so often. Still doesn't compare to the amount of time that is spent studying in school or hours of school attended. You're comparing apples to oranges.

I’ve always wondered why religious folks keep going to church when they reach adulthood. Seems like they should be living their faith instead of practicing. I mean, nobody goes to school all of their lives. Do they?
The Bible says not to forsake the assembly of the saints. You go to worship God (singing songs of praise, etc.), partake of the Lord's Supper, give, and to encourage one another.
You can't live your faith and attend church regularly? The two aren't mutually exclusive.

I've done it and don't care if others do or not.

It's fine if you are 8 or younger but otherwise no.

I don’t wear shorts personally, but I hate the type of people who say you’re offending Jesus if you do.

I wouldn't ever do it, but I doubt God is too concerned about what any of us wear to church.

It is just a matter of respect.

As if God would give a shite whether you wear shorts or not. Jesus wore birkenstocks and sandals definitely go better with shorts. And He didn’t wear socks with His ‘stocks
