What does it say about me?

And your views are unclear, all you've done is call people ignorant that disagree with you, or you've posted one liners saying nothing more than "that's ridiculous."

What is unclear to you? The only things I have said in this thread are that I don't support gay rights as delineated by the OP and that civil rights are different from gay rights. Pretty clear.

You are offended that I think that way, and it's showing in your responses to me.

That's fricking retarded. Marriage is an institution created by humans, so it can't be a "basic human right."

If it's a basic human right, it would apply to all humans, not just the ones you deem worthy.

Lemme put it to you this way, Stonehog. I think I was rather clear about my stance on the gay marriage issue the first two times I posted about it, but since you seem to be confused about it, I'll state it once more, then I'm done because, quite frankly, it's a waste of my time to comment on something that I cannot control, nor do I really give too many fricks about it one way or another. I'm certainly not out marching on Washington or anything.

I simply believe marriage should be between a man and a woman. That's it. No further explanation needed. If you don't get, I can't help you, nor do I give a frick if you think my opinion is "retarded." I think it is ignorant and a waste of time to argue with someone's fundamental beliefs. This is why grown-ups know how to agree to disagree. You should try it.

Being gay is different from being a minority because you have an option of masking it or not. Whether a gay person takes advantage of that or not is beside the point, and that's the fundamental difference between gay rights and civil rights.

Why should a gay person have to hide who they are, and how is that an advantage?

Also your race question is irrelevant. I'm not white and I hold Stonehog's views. I'm sure there are plenty of other minorities who do too.

I get that, I was attacking your use of "basic human right" because you clearly don't understand what that means.

It's an advantage because the option is there. Notice minorities don't have a concept of "coming out of the closet"--your race is readily apparent to others from the word go.

Was not my intention to speak for all minorities.

Okay, I get what you're saying. I disagree with you, but like you said we're never going to change each others mind on the internet.

I wonder the age difference in the "Yays" and "Nays".

I'm guessing the majority of the supporters are 25 and Younger.

Oh, yeah, Tbird. I forget you're that young. You "sound" more mature than your age.

Don't worry, I'm sure you're right about the majority being younger than 25. I'm 21 if that makes you feel better.
