How closely do you follow basketball?
all I watched was like two games of the finals.

It's by far my favorite sport (except for Ole Miss football)

I'm a nerd about anything involving college football, the NFL, and college and professional basketball

ive always found it funny when dumbass people say, lakers didnt draft kobe and they got lucky with the trade. no motherfricker. kobe met with jerry west, camped with the team, and met with del harris. the lakers told charlotte the trade would only go through if they picked kobe. they drafted his arse but through a different team

will be interesting. he royally fricked us over in 2011. now watch him do the same towards the other LA team
especially considering hes stepping down january 1st. that and the league has already said they would be weary about doc going to the clippers. its a big controversy waiting to happen

quote:realist might have replied to this but i would hate it if brian shaw went to you frickers.
Westcoast, what do you think of him?
he ahd an interesting nba career. he was drafted by you guys in like 88, made either the 2nd or 1st all rookie team. then in 89, he signed a contract to play for a team in rome for 2 years which caused a huge dispute between the celtic organization and shaw. they went to court and shaw lost so he came back to boston in 90 and i think stayed there till 92. then he bounced around and found himself as an intregal member of the 3 peat laker teams. he made multiple big shots in our game 7 comeback in the 2000 WCF against portland.
then when he retired in like 03 or 04, he became a phil jackson disciple and was his main assistant until 2011. all signs pointed to him getting the job because he was literally groomed by the GOAT himself to take over. jim buss in one of his patented frick ups said frick that im going with mike fricking brown. since then hes bounced around assistant jobs. he got passed up in minnesota for rambis, and the nets went with kid. hes been considered by many to be the #1 assistant in the entire league for a while. its a matter of time until he gets a head coaching job and i really think he will be a great one

No first round pick for my Grizzlies, but I hope we are able to pick up a shooter and give DJ Stephens a chance, just for the highlight real possibilities.
I am more interested to see if we have a coach by Thursday and see how John Hollinger works a draft.
I know we need shooters and more depth on our bench, but I am not sure how we are going to do it.

I know we only have 2nd round picks but who would you like to see the Lakers take if they are available

i havent done enough studying into how i want specifically yet. ill probably come up with that in a day or two. im looking for two type of choices though:
1) a lengthy and athletic defender or a smaller hard nose type of perimeter defender. think of either a player like earl clark or avery bradley. id rather have the latter considering we already have earl
2) a ball dominant PG. if we are going to have dantoni going forward, we need this. think of a player that plays like a younger steve nash

Kind of relieved Doc is officially gone and we can start over with a new foundation

So what happens with my man Rondo in all this? I haven't been following very closely.

That's a good question.

I am not. The west just got tougher and the east even easier...

I got sick and tired of the constant "Is Doc going to be gone after this year" shite. Players don't want to play for a team that has so many uncertainties. I wish he would have just retired but I'm looking forward to moving on.
