Its been announced and confirmed by Stallone
LINK /
Predictions? Will Wesley Snipes be cloned so that he can come back?
If not who do you want as a villain?
Also, obligatory sting song
LINK
If you haven't seen the original, I'm lmaoing at your life
quote:
The news was revealed during an Instagram Q&A, in which Stallone answered questions sent in from fans. Stallone was asked if he would make another Demolition Man, to which the action star replied: "I think it [is] coming. We're working on it right now with Warner Brothers, and it's looking fantastic. So that should come out. That's gonna happen."

Imagine making fun of someone for not seeing an average 90's film when you haven't even seen Breaking Bad

Imagine thinking a drama show can compare to something from the silver screen

Is that the movie where Sly makes it with Sandra Bullock?

You seem to fail to understand the weight of Demolition Man. Is it a goofy 90s action movie? Yeah. But, beneath the fun facade is a dystopian story that is horrifying to consider.
Free speech is banned
Sex, tobacco, meat, and salt are illegal
It is implied eugenics is a policy (as pregnancy is illegal without a license)
Tyranny seems to exist (kochtoe or however it's spelled is a tyrant)
Music is removed (due to it being a form of speech and free thought) and replaced with corporate jingles that would not make people think about anything beyond consumerism
Monopolies are allowed (as seen by taco bell being the only restauraunt) and no doubt corporatism can run amok
People are clearly weakened by these changes to ensure as Phoenix says "take away their right to be a$$holes" ie: their right to do what they wish.
And weirdly, it predicted the soy boy meme. Edgar Friendly pretty much states this when he says "I've seen the future, you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sittin' around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake singing "I'm an Oscar-Meyer Wiener""
And of course the fact that people's hands are held by the state to the point of not knowing how to do anything (see cops not knowing how to make an arrest)
There's more of course, like the reprogramming of people's minds, I'm just scratching the surface. There's more to it than people give it credit for, more than a show about a drug dealer I'm guessing

Not much different than most sci-fi dystopias

I don't disagree, but there is not one that has been put to screen quite as well.
The bliss people seem to have is way scarier than the inmates of escape from ny or the depressed people of blade runner.
They genuinely think "this is utopia"

You know Demolition Man is loosely based on Brave New World right?
Posted on 5/4/20 at 7:13 pm to diddlydawg7
Well yeah, most dystopian sci fi is based on it, 1984, Fahrenheit 451, or some combination thereof. My point was not originality but how well that it's put to screen and the fact that, visually, books cannot do it justice as demolition man does
Some ex Soviet citizen actually claims it's based off a book he wrote and his ideas were stolen. No idea if thats true but eh still a good movie.
