I'm sorry if I don't believe that you could run a successful campaign without attack ads. McCain and Romney tried, tried to do it and got their asses kicked.

Really? Because Romney kicked Obama's arse in policy debates, but voters by in large don't understand policy.
It would be nice to have 2 candidates that can just debate the pertinent issues and have an electorate that is smart enough to make an informed decision, but that's a fantasy.
