OK? This place had nothing to do with nuns.

I really hate this show and World War Z, both trying to be taken seriously and both failing at even rudimentary biology.

Meh. It's a tv show.

I refuse to watch World War Z because it's nothing like the book.

If they would do a miniseries based on the book it could have huge potential.

I didn't really understand why they called it World War Z as I read both that and the Zombie Survival Guide.

If you want good reads though, get the Zombie Combat Skills produced by the Department of the Army. LINK

Although it is more like a training manual, there's plenty of stuff to laugh at.

Probably means they didn't have any. Some have both, some have one or the other.

But the real question remains, when are you going to join?

And using a blunt instrument would be a very bad choice in a viral outbreak. Even a sword would probably yield few results. A firearm would be the cleanest, safest and overall best weapon aside from time and a secure location.

But..but...you obviously haven't watched enough of the show.

After the outbreak, everybody carries the virus, it just doesn't make everyone sick with an acute, life-ending infection. This also means everybody who dies turns Walker, a fact that most of the people didn't understand, even a year after the outbreak. Virtually all of the deaths people witnessed were via Walker bites and the resulting fever, or those who were devoured by Walkers, so they didn't see "normal" death enough to understand that all dead people "turn".

Its clear that military had some initial success in quelling the outbreak, but that as the virus spread to key infrastructure outposts, and things like communications and electricity began to fail everywhere, the situation deteriorated quickly.

I am a geek for liking this show, and I have my criticisms of it, but I find it pretty easy to follow the concept. The tension in every single episode is what keeps bringing me back to the show. I've never seen another show that manages to give me anxiety for the better part of an hour consistently.

I also vacillate between being one of the practical people who value survival above everything else, and agreeing with the people who insist that we must retain our "humanity" otherwise base survival is pointless. Its an interesting conflict.

Suspend your disbelief and enjoy it.

This isn't the first one that I've been to. They've never had both sexes.

I'm an atheist. I don't think I qualify.

Yeah, I've read both as well. From what I saw, the movie has almost no similarities.

I'll have to check that out. I wish we could have practiced zombie combat when I was in. That would have been awesome.

Never.

It's unbelievably stupid to inject mysticism when there are plenty of alternative explanations available that are far less stupid. (Take The Last of Us for example)

I'm not going to bother going into it too deeply into the science but just leave it at: There was no reason to completely disregard it, all it would have taken was a bit of effort.

And as for the military: There is a lot more preparation for pandemics than people know. Desertion would be a more likely article than an outpost being overrun.

My apologies, it's one or the other and not both.

Told you.

I've visited a few of them and they've all been single sex. I love the architecture of the abbeys. They always make for really pretty photographs.

I was never stationed in Georgia. I was mostly at Fort Campbell, which isn't much better in the summer though.

I know all about the heat here though. frick that. All I want to do during the Atlanta summer is chill in the pool and throw back ice cold beer.

But they are called nuns.

I've always had my own fascination with Taoist Monks. Mostly the philosophy, but how they live life.

Kirkman's Walkers don't transmit a virus to you, everyone already has it.
