I don’t think most people here troll out of some kind of sadomaschistic psychopathy. It’s mostly good natured ribbing, sometimes it uses nasty language but it’s to make people laugh, even the people being trolled. Most of the time that is.

I blame my millennial upbringing. In middle school we watched Chappelle's Show, South Park, Aqua Teen Hunger Force and MTV prank shows like Jackass, Crank Yankers, Boiling Points, Punk'd, Yo Mama, etc. Now the only way I know how to communicate and bond with other people is by roasting them.
