Black and latinos both have very high obesity rates. I wonder why that is?
West Virginia is 95% European-American and has one of the high rates of obesity. The biggest correlation is between obesity and financial status, not ethnicity.

A very good friend of mine through the office is obese and his wife is also obese, so badly in fact that she had to have her foot amputated from bad blood flow to her lower extremities. Both have terrible diabetes and don't seem to care. They both continue to get Rt. 44 coke's and McDonald's just about every day for lunch. Both are constantly sick. I'll never understand it. FWIW, East TN is one of the worst areas that I've ever seen for Obesity and I've traveled all over the world. It's both disgusting and sad.
Dopamine is the only drug that matters.

The longer hours and less time and all the issues that make it impossible for people to live properly is a huge topic to get into.
How about you live in a tent and eat worms, and I'll eat what the frick I want to eat and mow my lawn with a beer in my hand like God intended, and you can go frick yourself.

Why would you assume living properly means living in a tent and eating worms -- which is obviously a reference to hippieism.
Pretty good sign of how deep your dogmas run.
It's simple. People aren't here to work, drive, and rush all day with very limited leisure time.
Unfortunately because of the way the world has been set up, that's how many people must live to support themselves and their families.
That's really not a debatable position.

The poor are most likely to be morbidly obese. So they sit around and get diabetes. And heart disease. And they cost the system maybe $1 million or more in the last decade of their lives, just to maintain their existence.
They live off the govt their whole life. Never produce anything. Pay no taxes. And then they go out with a million dollar bang in their 6th decade
When they get around to making concentration camps for the obese, you should apply as a commandant. You'd make a damn good one.

My wife did her dissertation on obesity. Its not a simple issue. You have to nip it in the bud shortly after childbirth. Cultural tendencies play a huge roll. Some cultures believe its a sign of being poor when you are thin. Many new parents brag that their child started eating solids early, or can "eat a horse" etc. They don't know their babies stomach is the size of a golf ball. Or they want to stop the babies from crying by feeding them. Babies get accustomed to eating a lot and then the cycle begins. It is fricking complex.

I call bullshite.
Every culture feeds their babies as much as they'll possibly eat, and every time the baby cries, a nipple or bottle goes right in the mouth, all over the world, and throughout human history.
According to your wife's dissertation, everyone in the low-obesity states keep their babies on a diet?
All you really have to do is look at the parents.
Fat parents usually have fat kids.
Imagine that. Maybe it is pretty damn simple.

I was speaking in general. You dont overfeed a baby and you wont start a cycle. Babies cry for more than just food, but most go autoomatically to the food cure.
you dont put a baby on a diet, you learn why they are crying. they cry from pain, etc. multiple reasons. not just hunger.
That was just a side-bar in her research, not the main subject. And the thin/poor way of thinking has been proven many times in the African american community.

The Deep South and West Virginia, home to America's poorest citizens, show a remarkable correlation between poverty and morbid obesity.

The sad reality is, African Americans are 1.5x more likely to be obese. I don't know how you can change it either, because eating habits are learned from the parents. I suppose schools are the only hope?

There is a very strong correlation between obesity and ethnicity. Whether it is "bigger" than the financial correlation, I don't know.

So according to National Institute of Health, black people are more than double the % of extreme obesity than any other ethnic group.
And there are more than double the amount of black people as a percentage of the population in the South.
And the South has the highest per capita obesity rates.
So what does this have to do with corporate farming and crying babies?
Jack shite.
