Florida: Crazy people, snowbirds from the Northeast, tropical-borne diseases and hurricanes

Georgia: Fat southern belles, Chik-Fil-A, regal plantation homes, and a massive airport

Alabama: Obesity, stupid residents, Confederate flags, and racism

Mississippi: Extreme poverty, backwardness, and obesity

Louisiana: Drunken residents, strong French accents, swamps with alligators, Mardi Gras, and Katrina

Texas: Egotists, sprawling cities, immigration crisis, shootings, and brisket

South Carolina: Barbecue with mustard, dirty beaches, and Civil War enthusiasts

North Carolina: Rednecks, tobacco, and Yankees who moved to the South for cheap land

Virginia: Rich assholes in the northern part of the state, hicks everywhere else

West Virginia: Toothless mountain men, coal ash spills and poor mining towns

Tennessee: Fat toothless people, guitar picks, factory towns, and crime-infested cities

Kentucky: Horse races, backward hicks, and white people who love basketball

Arkansas: Wal-mart, white trash, fake diamonds, and desolate, flat rural land

Missouri: Homemade meth labs, nasal accents, and tornadoes

I don't think it is a stereotype if it describes reality...

Looking at elevation- AR is 37th in the country, ahead of sec states Bama, Missouri, Louisiana, Mississippi and Florida.

Wal Mart has done far more good for our state than not so I don't even mind that one.

White trash is just the same insult as you have for most every other state listed (stupid, backwards, rednecks, etc)- meh.

Fake diamonds- I don't get that one, I've never heard that as a stereotype for Arkansans before? As an aside, did you know that Arkansas has one of the only places in the world where you can search for diamonds that's accessible to the public- Crater of Diamonds State Park? For more information click here or here.

People get really pissy over that one. Admitting that, due to a geographical oddity, we actually do have diamonds in this state (hence the moniker the diamond state) sort of offends them. Particularly if their state is mostly famous for sucking.

Best to just nod politely and say "Of course all the diamonds we have are fake, those silly geologists." Otherwise you'll challenge what is left of their manhood.

Not really a stereotype. And don't leave out meth heads.

We're crazy because of the snowbirds, tropical diseases and dealing with hurricanes

Maybe 1/3 of the state is somewhat flat, and most of that is row-crops. Even south Arkansas, which isn't a remarkable landscape, is "rolling and hilly" compared to most of the South.

In the old days it was garnets you could mine in Arkansas but not sure if that is still going on

Not sure about "fake" diamonds but anywhere there is a meteor you can usually find "space" diamonds but they are too small to be of retail commercial value.
