beating up on conservatives and liberals doesn't mean you are automatically right on the issue and the notion that there is a 'middle way' on every issue doesn't make much sense.

No, the joke is funny not because it's a gay BJ joke, but because it portrays Trump as Putin's bitch which is a popular premise literally everywhere you turn even if you don't agree with it. The joke wasn't anything to do with being gay, but being someone's bitch.
