Sorry. But, I'm about to hijack this thread. I was searching for a "low budget security gif" to reply to pw and this is what I found. Look at your boy checking everyone closely...

Then I also found this one too...

During the day it's full color.
That calf was born around 3am the second around 6am. The 2rd picture was taken right at sunset.

I would feel secure with my life in her hands.... and another body part.

It has its good times and then it has its long hours. I'm thankful though.

Outstanding!!
I’m a big fan of your work.
That’s gonna make for some delicious T-Bones, Ribeyes, & Tenderloins someday…even some decent ground Chuck for burgers too.
I just hope some a-hole doesn’t cook it and desecrate it beyond a temperature past medium rare and dishonor the legacy and contribution that magnificent beast will eventually provide to our food-chain.
Nice work INDEED, OK Roughneck!!

THANKS it takes a lot of work to raise them.
Weather is perfect this year for calving them out. Beats having to do it in ice and snow. It's supposed to be 80 here tomorrow and thats a lot easier than when it's below freezing.

I say this in all seriousness.
Although we appreciate your regular positive contributions to the conversation around here?…
…for the immediate foreseeable future, you gotta stop fricking around with just casually “shooting the shite” with us and get the frick back to work!!
It’s calving season, Man!!
And yes, more often than not…usually?…”mother nature” takes its course in the bovine birthing process.
But?…you gotta be prepared for the occasional “breach”, my Man.
You know how that goes.
You not only gotta “get your hands dirty”…you might have to go “shoulder deep” to get that calf pointed in the right direction.
Or?…in the worst cases?…you gotta get a good grip on the hind legs, and pull that sucker out and have one hell of a “tug-of-war” through the final leg of the birth canal.
So?…put on a pot of coffee, stop dicking around here, and be prepared to stick your arm (arms) WAY beyond “where the sun don’t shine”

The cameras have saved me a lot of trips down to my lots. If I'm away from home I can check pens on my phone. In the evenings when I'm home I can monitor the pens from my house.
Before I got the cameras when the weather was in the teens you had less than 20 minutes to get the fresh born calves into shelter or they would freeze. I had to drive down there every 2 hours to see if something was calving and if they were I would sit in the truck or a JD Gator waiting on them.
Now if I see something starting on the cameras I put the cows in a pen or barn and then head back down there when I see the front legs sticking out. 4 cameras have made my life a lot easier

Some of those cows are so dilated you would think if they sneezed they would shoot a calf out of them.

It turns black and white at night for you?

Jack and Jill went up the hill both with a buck and a quarter. Jill came down with $2.50. Oh that fricking whore!

Think the camera has a built in infrared light. Some nights I don't have to turn on the lights down there if we have a moon and the live video on the monitor shows up really well. When you zoom in the light it uses kicks on like a flashlight but the lights not visible to your eyes if you're standing there looking at it.
