It is a horse problem.
A man buys a horse for $60.
Sells the horse for $70.
Rebuys the horse for $80.
Sells the horse for $90.
Did the man break even, lose money or gain money? And if he lost or gained money, how much?

He is up 20 bucks. I teach AP Psychology and we discuss this very problem.

He lost money because in the time he took to make that $20 he could have made more money doing something else. Opportunity costs man.

Don't forget he probably had to feed that horse while he had it. Those things aren't cheap.

Ah yea, and stable fees, and vet costs. Dude definitely lost a ton of money.

They both lost IMO. They seem retarded.

Why is it a problem? This person just likes buying and selling horses and that is his right to do so. It's not a problem.

Addition and subtraction hard

He probably lost a ton of money maintaining those horses

If he did all of this instantly then he made $20 in some sort of weird arbitrage and I want to know how to get into that business

Good Lord some of yall try to sound like the smartest person in the room. This isn't about opportunity costs or the price of fricking feed bags and stable fees. He made $20, end of story.

Must have been a crappy horse to only be worth that much
Posted on 2/18/19 at 2:46 pm to pioneerbasketball
It only seems he is up $10 to me
Posted on 2/18/19 at 3:18 pm to KSGamecock
and he lost interest and probably paid horse commissions

Why are you melting over discussion on a message board?
Posted on 2/18/19 at 3:33 pm to pioneerbasketball
Since its a math problem and not a philosophical one, he comes out 20 bucks ahead, assuming things like storing the horse and feeding it aren't factored into its cost
Just a summation problem really. No doubt everyone here can do this but, here's my work

I was trying to be somewhat nice because this behavior isn’t normal for you and I thought you might be having a bad day or something but now I realize that it’s actually because you’re a figgot.

You're being very bold stepping into the illewminati like that. Tread carefully.
