Finished gone girl. Loved the book as a whole but wasn't a fan of the ending.
Bout to search through these pages for something new.

Didn't go through all pages.
If your into fiction, anything by Neil Gaiman.
Also, Gene Wolfe, his stuff is a little harder to get into. But IMO he is the best fiction author to have ever walked the planet. Wolfe fricks Tolkien's shite up.

Any of the Dan Brown books are the coolest for me, as far as fiction goes. I am halfway through the inferno right now.

Seconded for the Neil Gaiman rec. American Gods is great.
Also if you're into historical fiction Pillars of the Earth and the sequel World Without End are great.

I LOVE all of Ken Follett's historical trilogies.
His current trilogy - The Century Trilogy - is great. The third book came out in September. We moved in August and have been in renovation hell, so I haven't had a chance to read it yet. I hope to spend the Thanksgiving holidays reading my face off.

Love Dan Brown. His first two are clearly better but I love them all.

I've had the stand sitting on my book shelf for 6 years and haven't gotten around to it yet. Maybe it's time.

I just finished Greg Iles Natchez Burning and really liked it. It's the first of a trilogy. The last book he wrote was The Devil's Punchbowl, which I also liked, and then he was in some bad accident and has been recovering since
I've read all of his books, anything by Greg Iles is money.
In the Heart of the Sea is a good nonfiction I just read. It's about a whaling ship that gets rammed and sunk by a whale, what Melville based Moby Dick on. I just started another nonfiction called City of Z about an explorer who disappeared in the Amazon trying to find this lost city; not too far into it, but it is good so far.

Bump time. I don't know which is the official but I'm sticking with this.
So I finished the year pretty strong
Rounded out with:
30 various Clive Cussler, Lee Child, Vince Flynn, Brad Thor, and Michael Connely books
Gone Girl
The Casual Vacancy (stick to wizards Rowling)
Unbroken
Adopted for Life (Jesusy Book)
10 who changed the world (more Jesusy)
I just finished Unbroken and am uber disappointed that they chose to leave out the last part of his life which makes his story all that more compelling in the movie
I start Killing Patton tomorrow morning in the deer blind.
Goals for next year:
Read all of the Killing series by O'Reilly
Reread Kingskiller Chronicles in prep for the 3rd book.
Take on the Dark Tower Series
Reread Harry Potter with my 3rd grader

Very nice
I got 4 books for christmas and I can't decide which to start first.
Moneyball
The Big Short
Unbroken
38: The Chucky Mullins Effect
I think I'll start with Unbroken since that is the talk of the town everywhere.
I also got 3 graphic novels I'm interested in reading. I've never read a comic before so it idk.

Loved Unbroken.
Hildebrand made me speed read a biography and that's hard to do. I usually struggle through those and end up reading throwaway thrillers in between.
Anime? I haven't read graphic novels since I was a teenager and gave up comic books. Might be interested in picking up the watchmen.

Not anime but The Flash. My brother knows I'm a big fan of the flash/Arrow tv shows so he bought me the first 3 volumes of the New flash issues.

Anybody read All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr yet? Was considering downloading it but was curious if anyone else had checked it out.
Also debating whether I want to read Wild before I go see the movie (which I heard was pretty good).
