It didn't really feel like Baton Rouge was a college town to me. I didn't mind the city and the tailgating was awesome. I would go to LSU games even if UGA wasn't playing. I enjoyed my 4 years there minus the traffic on I-12 before they widened it.

Baton Rouge and Columbia, SC have a lot in common. Both are state capitals. Neither are college towns but are centered around a university. Both have some very nice parts and some bad parts. And both towns are places where it is very easy to get absolutely shite housed.

Well... its...

OK... here is the thing. Some SEC towns like Fayetteville are wonderful to live in but sort of so so to visit. Some towns are great to visit but so so to live in. Some towns, like Memphis, are an SEC town but technically not in the conference.

Some towns, and I won't name names, are just a place a bit north of New Orleans.

LA. is a great state, but Baton Rouge might not be its best selling point.

Yes it is true, and I’ve spent a lot of time in Baton Rouge. And for the life of me I cannot fathom comments about all of Baton Rouge’s “culture.” New Orleans?...yes. Baton Rouge?...wtf?

Baton Rouge is a violent shithole. New Orleans is a world class violent shithole.

frick both of them.

Honestly they screwed up by moving LSU from Pineville. Had it never moved, The Alexandria-Pineville region would be another world compared to what it is now. Think Lafayette but more traditional southern/Baptist. SEC town equivalent I come up with is Tuscaloosa
