Just a terrible matchup for us, especially with the way they are playing right now.
If we do play expect to see a lot James Johnson and Ed Davis. JJ has probably had his 2 best games as a Grizzly against the Spurs. Ed Davis' athleticism seemed to give y'all fits. Gonna have to find alternative ways to win because y'all basically make Zbo non-existent.

Splitter finally grew the frick up on defense, and Baynes feels in charge on that end of the court, as well.
The key to beating the Spurs is to have long, rangy defenders who play physical in the paint and disrupt the passing lanes and create turnovers. Easier said than done, but y'all have to nail down some more athletic guys like you said, and it's doable.
I mean, dammit, we're still talmbout a 50 win team here. Not exactly a lost cause like the Sixers or something.

Why I wouldn't mind adding a lottery pick

Mood in Memphis --> RT @Stumpbuster9: So our options are miss playoffs with ensuing pandemonium or a public disemboweling by the Spurs. Yuck

No, we gave that up last year.
Straight lethal injections now. More humane.

Khawi was insane tonight. It just wasn't fair.

I think he started 10/10 and finished like 12/13 or something crazy like that. These weren't a bunch of layups either.
Every time we made a run it seemed like him or Manu would hit a couple big shots in a row. Fun-ruiners at their finest.
It is shame we had such a shite 1st quarter because it was pretty dead even the rest of the way. I think the Grizz won the 2nd and 3rd quarters. Would have been a good game.

I saw him and Manu each had 26. Think Ginobili was a little miffed about being held out of the OKC game

SA has been winning most of their games the second half of the season by jumping teams early, it seems. Usually balances out, but Pop obviously likes a quick start these days.

Perfect storm against the way the Grizz are playing right now, who keep getting in holes and having to dig their way out.

Pop figured Zach out.
He's playing coy about it, though

From his interview tonight:
On what Pop has discovered about defending Zach Randolph effectively.

Well, if I had discovered anything I wouldn't tell you. We did a good job on him. Play another game and maybe he gets 27. Zach's a great player, but we played pretty good d tonight.

Are we gonna talk about the Cal2LA rumors?

It would at least make things interesting for us.

If Cal is heading back to the NBA it will only be to coach his buddy LeBron, so next year will be the year to watch honestly.
Kentucky dodged a bullet when the Knicks hired Phil Jackson, because Phil is not hiring Cal

Did people forget how awful he was at the Nets? It was not like Daly left him a wrecked ship either.

He's like saban, great recruiter but horrible when evenly/under matched (however he is spectacular when he has a better team)
