Don't I know it
You know Spurs fans LOVE the way y'all play the game, though. That WCF was the most intense series we had (including the Finals, IMO).
Looking forward to and dreading playing y'all again, and that's a good thing
Gonna be interesting if we look much different. New coach is wanting them to get into the offense a little faster, so they can find quick post ups up for Marc and Z-bo. Playing the slow pace we did last year killed us against y'all because they were able to get 2 or 3 bodies around Zach every time he touched.
It is crazy to compare his stats when we beat y'all 3 years ago to this past year. He killed the Spurs 3 years ago.
I saw a play tonight that reminded me of why I love Marc Gasol so much. He got the ball at the top of the key on a fast break took one dribble then threw a perfect no look pass to Mike Miller for a wide open threw.

What is crazy is how ridiculous the win streak by the Heat was this past year, but I still feel like there are a lot championship teams in the past 20 years that could've easily handled this past years Heat.
Not a lot. Make no mistake--the '13 Heat were a juggernaut of epic proportions.
Still, they weren't unbeatable. 2000 Lakers get the nod over them, and honestly last year's Spurs were basically neck and neck with them.

No not even best Laker team of that run.
The team that beat Boston in 87 was a lot better. 88 was lucky Thomas got hurt.

That he did. We had NO answer for him in '11

Sounds like what Boris Diaw does for us (from a passing aspect). I wish he'd be more aggressive looking for his shot on offense, though.

I think my reasoning is their lack of good big man.
Now if they could kindly send Battier back to Memphis please. We need another shooter.

the 88 team was much deaper than the 87 team. byron scott was much better and you still had magic and james to go along with kareem. the 88 lakers would have beaten the 87 lakers
byron scotts development and the addition of mychal thomspon are the x factors for the 88 team

Do y'all watch Open Court on NBATV? Probably my favorite sports related show right now.

No not even close the 88 team wasn't as fast.
The 87 team would run you out of the gym and then beat you up.
That team had AC Worthy Scott Magic and Kareem with desire. Then they brought in Thompson Rambis and Coop
The 88 team was year older and Kareem started to break down.
88 Pistons should have won the finals. Thomas blew his wheel out and they were done.

kareem started to break down, but magic and worthy were the same and the bench played better. AC and thompson had better years than they did in 87 and byron scott was 20+ point scorer in 88

a healthy 88 piston team was better than the 89 or the 90

They played more in 88 because Kareem was not playing as much.

i did when i could at my parents house. i like it a lot

they played more. but not by much
Posted on 10/24/13 at 12:28 am to WestCoastAg
the 87 laker team and the 88 team were similar but you had a legit scorer in byron scott to step up for an aging kareem

The team I wished would've stayed together longer was the Hawks when they had
Smith
Laettner
Mookie
They were on verge of being good but of course salary dump.
I always thought Laettner and Smith were under rated as NBA PLAYERS
Laettner was a frickin assassin

i agree. and as a laker fan, i wish the team never fell apart after 2004. kobe and shaq had at least 2 more runs left in them

He clinched our first ever playoff victory with a clutch 3 with like 20 seconds to go.
....the feels....
