No Spotify?
Nope. Isbell is doing it to try and increase profits for independent record stores. It’s a good thing.

Limewire, bruh.
I still have a laptop somewhere with all of my downloads on it, I'm sure.

dude you just need to admit that youre a hipster
I’m definitely not. Not sure why you think people who collect vinyl are hipsters

I don’t use vinyl because it’s different. I use it because it is literally confirmed the best quality. Especially if you get audiophile vinyl.
Most music is recorded on analog tapes. When music is put on Spotify, it uses Digital Software, which in and of itself decreases the detail of the music.
After that, it is compressed to a fraction of the size of the original recording, which eliminates even more detail.
Regular vinyl is usually a copy of some digital software, but not compressed. It’s more detailed than Spotify.
Audiophile Vinyl comes straight from the analog tapes. They are usually more expensive. Around $30-$50 on average. I only own one, but it sounds insanely good.

Its not just that, youre talkin about how independent record stores are important and now youre talking about recordings from the original tapes vs digital copies. You also listen to smaller non-main stream country artists that produce some really dark emotional songs.
Embrace what you are dudly, i know you own a beanie and drink lattes while listening to your vinyl collection

I am aware there is a difference in music quality btw. Theres a difference between CD and straight electronic file too imo. Or maybe music just sounds better in the car

Nothing wrong with supporting small businesses

You are forgetting I work in music audio. It’s job to know this stuff

The guys I listen to aren’t mainstream, but they definitely aren’t small. Most people know who Jason Isbell and Tyler Childers are.

No you’re right.
Live > Audiophile Vinyl > Regular Vinyl > CD > Digital

You should watch the movie Empire Records. A young Liv Tyler is in it, which makes it kind of redeeming.

Josh Ritter- Where the Night Goes
TG, sorry, I'm asking you to listen to one more. I was listening to this earlier and this song has always reminded me of a Tom Petty song.
