Childers and Sturgill and those guys are the real country artists today. They are the ones carrying on the spirit of the old outlaws like Cash and Waylon, who were pretty progressive for their time. They would've fit in perfect with that group

I’ve given him a listen for a few songs. Everything sounds the same and whiney, and generic. The solo version of Turnpike Troubadours. But they don’t whine as much.

But if it keeps zoomers away from their Taylor Swift proclivities, then so be it.

They couldn’t carry Johnny and Waylon’s guitar cases.

They're both better song writers tbh. And I think Waylon and Johnny would see them as peers, they'd all be buddies

It's a beautiful song, and I'm not disparaging any of the older guys by any means. Believe me, I'm a huge fan of them all.

Just saying, Childers and Sturgill are right there on the same page as those guys with what they're doing and how they do it.

Sturgill is a an a-hole. I got nothing for him after Metamodern.

My post from another thread I posted in this week:

quote:

I saw him during the Metamodern tour at a small, packed bar in my town. He talked shite about having to be here and couldn’t wait to get back to NYC. I stopped listening to him after that.

Childers just sounds like a whiney bitch.

Where were you at when he said that? He's not the most personable guy clearly, but he came into a bar in Bham my friend was bartending at and she said he was nice and polite, just kind of kept to himself and the couple guys he was with.

You sound like a whiny bitch rn fwiw

I was about 20 feet away from him. Me and the about 20 people I was there with all looked at each other in shock.

Nah. Not whiney here. Just passing on an experience at a concert. I’m sorry you’re in love with pussy Sturgill.

I like you man, but I hope you realize the irony in you calling a dude a pussy bc he hurt your feelings with his words when he wasn't even talking to you or about you
