I think it's better to just say that Peanut butter brings anything it's paired with up to it's awesomeness rather than something else bringing it down.

When I was little, I would pour a bag into a bowl, lick off all of the seasonings, and then put them back in the bag. It was one of the passive aggressive ways I could get back at my much older and taller brother who antagonized me to no end.
