As you all have probably seen, video of Delonte West surfaced yesterday that showed the ex-NBA player to be on a different planet. One video shows Delone getting stomped on in traffic.
It's so crazy that no one is protected from addiction/mental health issues these days...
First red flag I remember were the rumors he slept with Lebron's mom and that he was pulled over driving a Can-Am Spyder with a shotgun strapped to his back.
Drugs are a helluva drug. Get help if you need it. No one deserves that life.

He needs help, he obviously has mental illness issues. I hope somewhere he has some of the millions of dollars he earned playing, that someone was helping watch out for him.
If not, I hope the NBA pension fund and the NBA can step in and at least get him off the streets and into a facility of some kind.

I know you're in the legal game, but unsure what experience you had in the skreets before that. In my professional opine illegal narcotic use is them seeking relief in a way they prefer. I don't think the mental illness is frequently a symptom of their use/abuse. Obviously some people will disagree, but it's a real chicken vs egg type quandry.
Ultimately you can't force people to seek help in a lot of states. Here in Florida they can hit you with a 72 hour hold under the Baker act, for mental health concerns... and you can find yourself in court, repeatedly, if someone files a marchman act complaint over drug abuse. Unfortunately the state resources for these things are woefully underfunded. Big believer that an ounce of prevention > a pound of cure.

They can, and dozens of athletes and famous people have offered to get him help. The truly sad part of all this is that obvious evidence of mental illness goes back over more than a decade to at least when he was playing in Cleveland. ALL of his teammates ignored it, as did every NBA organization he played for. Then it was ignored by his European teammates and organizations. He even ignored it himself, despite having the means to easily seek treatment.
