I decided that enough was enough. Enough hurting my family. Enough of lying about where I've been or why I look the way I look or why am I slurring my words. Enough of my kid being scared of how fricked up I got. Enough of feeling like shite when I wasn't fricked up. Enough was enough and I never got like that ever again. Dabbled here and there maybe once a year. Nothing serious. If I can do that, anyone can do that.

Congrats, bro.

Really proud of you.

It takes a man to admit it, and a bigger man to make those kind of changes for his family.

I appreciate you saying that. But, its not really about me. I just remember being in that place and feeling lost, alone, trapped and having no way out. We'll, I got out and if I can give up all of that, so can other people. I want to make sure that everyone knows that even they can get sober.

That is awesome to hear TL!

I gave up a couple of years ago. When you don't chase the high you get from being drunk, which is basically checking out of life for a few hours, it really starts to ground you and life is a lot less chaotic. I don't miss it for a second, and I really though I would. I still go by my old bar every now and again and hang out with my drinking crew and eat some wings or maybe have one beer, and it is amazing how stupid they get.
That used to be me.

We went to Twin Peaks a while back for a friend visiting town and they had some obnoxious arse guys yelling and hitting on all the waitresses and being super embarrassing. As you say, that used to be me. I can't agree with you more about not missing it.

I eat my gummies and have a little disposable pen because it helps my stomach out so much and I can finally sleep. Other than that, I don't really ever do anything.

Yes and I always excused my behavior as OK because young people sometimes do stupid things and it is just blowing off steam, which is true, but it also can create some bad habits. Next thing you know 20 years have gone by and you are still doing the same old shite.

And I had a lot of fun, don't get me wrong, but it was also a lot of hungover days paying for it.

Kids are great motivators - intended or now - glad you saw it. Glad you made the change.
