It's complicated...
Basically it was the shitty luck of the draw. We got an easy draw in 2010. Like 2006, this draw is pretty rough. Fun fact, in 2006 we were the only team not to lose to eventual champions Italy.

It's not looking that bad, though.
We've been cursed against Ghana and Portugal got absolutely hammered and lost some good players.
We lost a few as well, but Ronaldo going gimpy is a good sign for us.

Yes, having 2, 4 and 13 in the same group is pretty brutal.
Keep in mind we're also the champions in our region.

They could easily upset Portugal who showed that they couldn't even handle a slow team. Ghana attacks fast and at the perimeter -- Portugal could lose that game.

I missed the Portugal game. I saw that they got hammered 4-0 though. Did they play bad, or is Germany that good?

Pepe caught a red card and they played a man down from like 30 min into the game, and their starting RB went down as well.

They just didn't play a good game at all.

No. We could well slip out of the group. Which would be quite impressive for the USMNT and great for soccer fandom after such an entertaining WC
