Just got home. Has Germany controlled the game like this for the whole match?

Missed a lot of the second half because I had to pick up my ex's kid, but the first half was all Algeria.

I've only seen the second half. Germany has held possession but Algeria have had some good spells as well. They've had some dangerous looking counters, the Algerians.

Germany have one plan of attack. See right flank. Get there. Cross.

Algeria been chasing too much. Those tired legs finally gave way. They should have gotten one earlier but couldn't make the final pass to make it happen.

That was close to a red, he clearly impeded a goal scoring opportunity.

In spite of these victories, Germany and France definitely looked beatable.

The day has arrived! USA playing the Round of 16 for the second straight WC. Many will remember last time, watching those Ghana a-hole kill our dreams in extra time. This time, it's less ebola and poverty and more waffles and ladyboys with Belgium the opposition. You might know this little country as being where all the diamonds go through or for having fine chocolate. They also house the EU. It's like the House of Representatives with less power and the states have been at war with each other for centuries. fricking Eurotrash.

The Belgium footballers feature two of the best in the world in Eden Hazard and Vincent Kompany. Kompany may or may not olay, and hope he doesnt. He can be a force in attack and fills in well when guys slip through the high pressing midfield. If he's not in, there should be a little more room for the USA to work. Hazard has never delivered for country like he has for club, but he's an elite attacker from the wing that will test our fullbacks all game. For the love of God, don't leave anyone alone on him!

That's not their only attacking option on the wing with Mertens being a hard working right winger. They like to run the attack through the right and then shift over to the left to leave Hazard one on one with the right back (thanks Zonal Marking for that information). Overall the present quite the test for our defensive players.

The good news is, while their CBs are fine players, they lack proper fullbacks. They also haven't looked all that together as a team despite a wealth of talent. It's going to be a challenge to get through for America, but when have we ever backed down from a challenge. This isn't Europe. We go out and we win.

USA! USA! USA!

P.S. Jurgen, plz don't bring Jozy off the bench. Either start him or don't play him. I'd hate to burn two subs and tear his hammy up again.

My only fact regarding Belgium is that's where San Antonio Spur Tony Parker's mom is from
