For how long. The likely Germany v France quarterfinal is going to be awesome. Great countering France against the German passing machine.

Good matches for the mast part this weekend. Chile v Brazil wasn't the best game. Brazil looked wanting in tactics against a team they had the physical edge. Brazil have much reason to worry.

Mainly because Colombia have looked awesome so far. Dangerous on the attack, and really creative breaking down a defense. Haven't seen the most talented competition yet though. They get to prove their worth v Brazil on Saturday.

On the other side, the Mexicans grab defeat from the jaws of victory. Playing for the 1-0 draw comes back to bite them. Dutch keep fighting, find a goal to make it level. Then it just took stupid defending by Rafa and the world's best diver. Mexico justly concede the penalty and the Orange machine rolls on.

Costa Rica keep the dream going in what was the worst game to watch this weekend. A bunch of punt it down field to a single target man and play to counter. Greece get a gift getting to play an hour vs 10 men. Get the late equalizer bit still looked uncomfortable in the attack. Hell they get a 5 v 2 and run in a blob and don't manage to get much of a shot though. The soccer gods were just in the penalty shootout.

So today we get the African nations vs their European overloads. Looks like fairly simple road ahead for both Germany and France.

Great World Cup so far. Can't wait till tomorrow.

Let's hope instead it's Nigeria vs. Algeria.

France looking really offbeat. One has to wonder if they're too eager to get a goal. Nigeria controlling the pace of the game.

Questionable offside, Nigeria should have had a goal.

Amazing Nigeria save.

France still has possession problems. Nigeria has held onto it for longer, and had more crosses into the box.

Nigeria looking formidable. They have another corner. France has had some great chances, but haven't been able to convert.

Nigeria has had more chances.

Nigeria made some terrible mistakes, but managed to survive.

France has fixed their possession issue, Nigeria just got a shot on target and the rebound but another phantom Offside.

This has actually been a very interesting game -- tons of counterattacks.

Possibly a broken leg for a Nigerian player.

Really, really fricking bad tackle by a French player.

Updating "Possibly" to "Probably". French player shown a yellow card, should have been a red. Studs over the ball and straight into the ankle of the Nigerian player.
