I admit.. the correct term is melatonin challenged.
Joking aside. Black, white, glow in the dark green, there are large parts of DC that you do not want to go in after dark.

So I don't really know DC, is this corridor you mentioned an area where it's mostly white people or an area white people should stay in after dark or what?

If you're into history, you should have a good time; adjacent Petersburg is a nice place to start.
If not, Virginia Beach is nice, as is Georgetown.

There is a stretch of DC that is quite possibly the nicest city you could ever want to visit. The homes are million dollar homes. If you so much as sneeze the Capitol Police will be there to hand you a tissue. Its a great place.
And then there is the rest of DC. Its like all of New Orleans but the food isn't as good. Its so bad that if you saw something as wholesome as a rat you'd be cheered up.
Think about the worst room mate you had in college but remove any sense of decorum. Its worse then that. A nudie bar is a sign of a neighborhood that has dangerous pretensions towards going upscale.
They have to subsidize crack whores. Its an unpleasant area. If you scrounged up the worst trailer trash in your state and move them there they'd be ecstatic that they finally found their home. Black, white, beige, periwinkle... its the only place you'll find people more reprehensible then our elected officials serving in Congress.

Always wear your cammies when running errands off base. Don't even own civilian attire. I'm sure your Drill Sergeant covered that already. You gotta be thanked, bro. Otherwise what's the fricking point of joining the military???
