:kige:

To be fair I have been a magnet for folks with mental issues all my life. It is like I am the lighthouse and attract them from great distance and serious fog.

Bipolar (way more than normal)
Narcissistic (lots) - usually charismatic but cold assed bastards underneath
Paranoid / Schizophrenics
OCD
Substance abusers (dime a dozen)
scariest tho was.....

Borderline (only one) - only time I feared for my life

I've never looked into it because the idea scares me more than say, a disease outbreak, nuclear war, etc.
Guess maybe I should though

Scary to think that it could happen to anybody. What can be done to prevent it?

It will make you think.

If there are demons, then there must be a Satan and then there must be a Hell.

Those are thoughts most people like to avoid.

I’m pretty sure my parish’s priest wouldn’t know what to do. He’s kinda senile and aloof. I’d be screwed if I got possessed.

Ive already accepted the idea of Christ, the devil, hell, etc. and made my peace at least in the way Baptists do it.
But possession still creeps me out.

Strong faith. Don't mess with the occult.

Avoiding the occult seems obvious, you’re just asking for it. Seems like being strong in faith would also make you a target. I need to know which votive candle to buy.

A few years ago either Pope Benedict or John Paul II ordered all dioceses across the world to start training one priest to be a designated exorcist.

The book The Rite by Matt Baglio details this and follows Father Gary Thomas through his exorcism training.

Stop trying to dox doc

That is your bag not mine

Just asking which side of the fence he is on.

Easy to get money for body stuff
Hard to get money for mind stuff

I have been the guy the body docs call when they want the head issues out of their hospital and into a mind facility. I see resources needed for the mind but not made available. Wanted his point of view and which side of the aisle he was on.

Most people encounter severe mental illness much more often than they realize.

You are just paying better attention.

I don't claim to know everything about it, but those are two big things they emphasize. If you let your faith lapse and enter the world of depravity and immorality, you begin to invite things in that go beyond mere temptations.

That's something Ive always followed. After paranormal activity got popular people I knew were interested in getting weegie boards or at least making them. I stayed away from that as it seemed like a dumb idea
My great grandparents, someone actually got it for them for some sort of party. They didn't want to offend the guest who brought it but were not fans of that sorta thing so, they used it for a drink holder, I thought it was kinda funny.

Don’t ever say that. AMA’s were some of the best threads in this boards history. They would have been terrible on the OT. This smaller group made them fun.
