What is the best way to go in y'all's opinion?

Last year we used a service and it worked fairly well

This year, we have not had mosquitoes up and until the last 2 or 3 days

and they are making up for lost time

should I go ahead and hire the service again, or is the stuff at Lowes and Home Depot just as good?

Mosquitobarrier.com is your answer. I have used it for years and it works. Very inexpensive.

Damn, not available for retail in Bham

BUT, the service I was gonna use is listed as the Bham distributor...

Will probably buy something at Home Depot for the next week and order this

Thanks for the heads up

So I see this is about area repellent and I don't want to hijack your thread but as a secondary question what is the best personal repellent in your experiences?

I've tried the 98% DEET stuff before and it was good but I no longer live in a mosquito crazy area so I've stopped experimenting. I've heard amazing things about the high-end wearable devices like Thermacell, has anyone used one?

Ortho Malathion concentrate. If you have a spot sprayer or don't mind getting one, spray this liberally around everything that touches the ground, including your home of course. You won't have to worry about mosquitoes after a few days.

How much did you spend?

You can get a fogging system for $300-400 with a yearly cost of about $40-80 depending on how much you use it. That is if you are a DIY person

I was paying $80 every 3 weeks - total cost was between $700 - $800 for the year

was going to go with another service (I know the owner - he has been around 12 - 15 years, and is one of the top in town) and that company is listed as the company to use on the mosquitobarrier.com website for Bham

mosquitoes are gonna be real bad this year I think
